ABOUT THE FUND: Established in 2002, the fund is the first exclusive public employee training Fund established by a LIUNA affiliate. The purpose of the Fund is to provide career enhancement and educational, professional development, and safety training to Local Union 1033 members.
SERVICES PROVIDED: The fund offers a varied menu of educational and training benefits based upon the needs of the specific bargaining unit and contributing employer. Benefits include a tuition reimbursement program, a professional development program, and steward and union leadership training. Benefit amounts for our tuition reimbursement program and our professional development program have been increased in 2015 by 100%. We encourage every member to take advantage of all of our union benefits and to enhance their careers with Professional Development funded through the Public Employees’ Training Fund.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: The fund covers Local Union 1033 bargaining unit members employed by the City of Providence, the Providence School Department, and the North Providence School Department.
